I hate to be rude, but this book is a snooze. I kept picking it up to give it another try. I kept falling asleep over it. I am so sorry. I'm sure it has a lot of really good stuff in it.

Here's a quote from the front of the book:

"Starting with a few children, families and a mission, Dr. David L. Holmes and his colleagues have created one of the few programs for persons with autism that are models of humanity, effectiveness, and successful organizational development. "Autism Through The Lifespan" describes in detail all of the practical activities involved in serving individuals with autism from infancy through adulthood; the operation of the Eden Family of Services; the overarching mission and values and the evolving conception of psychosocial development that guide the change process. If professional educators, college students, parents, and administrators could read only one book this year, "Autism Through the Lifespan" should be the one.

The part I was really interested in was to find out about programming for adults. What supports are put in place for adults in group homes and sheltered workshops? I want to see how Eden works, and how their ideas can be transferred to other parts of the country.

I'm sure all that is in the book. I'll give it a few more tries. Really, I will. In the meantime, if anyone who is reading this review would like to read this book and review it, let me know!
